Interest in the Webster line became known through Harriet's letters. We are researching two Webster lines. Both are descendants of Gov. John Webster of Connecticut.
Harriet Deuel received letters from Minnie Griswold, daughter of Cyril Webster and Elizabeth Robison. Harriet and Minnie were cousins, both born in Dryden, Tompkins County, NY. Maryette signed her letters Minnie, but her given name was that of Maryette, as confirmed by Helen Webster in a letter she wrote to Harriet. Helen was the wife of Minnie's brother, John Webster. Parents of Elizabeth Robison and Harriet's mother, Lydia Robison, were Ebenezer Robison and Lydia Van der Mark. There are also letters from their son, Isaac Robison, who lived in Indiana. He signed his name Robinson. He inquired of sister Betsy, which was would have been Elizabeth Webster.
The name Aurelius is also mentioned in the letters, probably Aurelius Webster, brother of Minnie Webster. Minnie is a descendant of Thomas Webster, son of Gov. John Webster.
Addie Northrop wrote letters to her Aunt Harriet before and after her marriage to Myron Webster, a descendant of Robert Webster, son of Gov. John Webster. Addie was the daughter of Clement B. Northrop and Lavinia Deuel. We have not established parents of Lavinia. In a letter to his niece, Alva Swayze, son of Harriet Deuel and Cashaday Swayze, refers to Uncle Clem, Aunt Lavinia and their numerous children. Myron's father Jeremiah Webster was enumerated in the 1825 NY State Census. He was living in Groton, Tompkins County, NY.

WEBSTER: Cyril, born about 1800, son of Constant Webster and Chloe Daniels. He was a farmer and horse dealer. He was still single at the time of the 1825 State Census and is enumerated in Dryden, Tompkins Co. NY. He married at Dryden, Tompkins Co., NY to Elizabeth Robison, born Esopus, Ulster County, NY. She was the daughter of Ebenezer Robison and Lydia Van Der Mark. Cyril died at Nassau, Rensselaer County, NY, 1862. After his death Elizabeth lived with Del Mar and Minnie Griswold. She is enumerated with them on the 1870 Census. Children of Cyril Webster and Elizabeth Robison, probaly all born Dryden, NY, were:
1. Warren Webster, born 1829. Warren Webster, his wife Mary, Maryett Webster 17, and children, John, Robert, Isaac, and Wilson were listed on the 1860 Federal Census for Chatham, Columbia, NY.
2. Isaac Webster, born 1831. Isaac Webster 28, wife Pauline 28, and son Daniel were listed on the 1860 Federal Census for Chatham, Columbia, NY.
3. John James Webster, born 1833. He married Helen May Thayer.
There is one letter from Helen to Harriet (1865). John was working at the store of Del Mar Griswold at the time. John & Helen Webster are enumerated 1865 & 1870 NY census,
Chatham, Columbia Co. NY.

5. Chloe Webster, born 1837. Enumerated on 1860 Federal Census for Chatham, Columbia, NY. She was 19 years old and residing with the family of Dr. Horatio Root. If the age was correct she would have been born about 1841.
6. Marietta Webster, born 1838. Believed to have been enumerated on 1860 Federal Census for Chatham, Columbia, NY. with her brother, Warren Webster. She was listed as age 17. The age is not consistent with her birth year but the 1870 Census has her with her husband, Del Mar Griswold, Maryetta, age 27.
7. Aurelius Webster, born 1839. One letter mentions Aurelius Webster.
