There were letters to Harriet Deuel from her cousin, Minnie Webster, wife of Norman Delmar Griswold. Minnie refers to her husband as Del. There was a letter from Helen Thayer Webster, wife of Minnie's brother, John Webster, who worked at Del's store near Chatham 4 Corners, NY. Letters are dated April 1863 - Feb.1866, Chatham 4 Corners, NY.
Minnie's given name was Marietta Webster, born 1838, Dryden, Tompkins, NY. Died 1912, Ohio. She was the daughter of Cyril Webster and Elizabeth Robison. (Cyril d. at Nassau, Rensselaer, NY, 1862) Her brother Aurelius Webster is also mentioned in the letters. Elizabeth Robison was the daughter of Ebenezer Robison and Lydia Van der Mark and sister of Harriet's mother, Lydia Robison.
Plans were for the Griswold family to move West in 1866. It appears they went to Indiana and then returned. The 1870 Census shows the family of Delmar Griswold in Kings County, NY. Minnie's mother was living with her in 1865 and 1870. By the 1880 Census the family was in Michigan, a daughter Daisy, 9 years old, was born in Ohio so it appears they made a stop in Ohio first. No mention of Elizabeth Webster after 1870. Aurelius Webster was also listed on the following page of the 1880 census. His occupation was a grocer. Not sure if this was a brother of Minnie Webster Griswold or cousin.Norman Delmar Griswold is a descendant of Michael Griswold of Wethersfield, CT.

Norman Delmar Griswold, son of Norman Francis Griswold and Deborah Richmond, born July 3, 1838, Columbia Co. NY. He died Feb. 4, 1895, Ohio. He married Marietta Webster, Jan. 12, 1861, Chatham, NY. Last known residence for Norman Delmar Griswold, Lima, OH. Marietta Griswold died 1912. Three children were enumerated on census records, one died.1. Lillian May Griswold born December 1863, Chatham Corners, Columbia, NY. She married Dr. James Cromwell Pence, son of Henry Pence and Elizabeth Cromwell. Marriage took place at the home of the brides parents, June 1887, Middle Point, Van Wert, OH.
2. Louisa Griswold, born Indiana, married Alban A. Manship, @ 1888. Marriage took place at the home of the brides parents, Middle Point, Van Wert, Ohio. They had two children, Earl Manship and Ruby Manship. (Ruby Redrup 1891-1978.)
3. Daisy Griswold born 1870, Ohio, died 1912, married Allen Kent.
