Thadeous Deuel was the brother of Harriet Deuel Swayze.  His brother, James M. Deuel, also served but did not return.  There are several letters from Thadious.   Dates and places range from 1862, Camp California & Camp Manassas; 1863, Camp near Fredericksburg and Centerville VA; to 1864,  Camp in Virginia.   Some were soldiers from the area of Dryden, Tompkins County, NY.
